We are seeking a Director of High Performance Design to lead our design team based in New York. The successful candidate will have extensive experience developing sustainable / high performance design solutions for large real estate projects and possess the outstanding leadership qualities essential to manage, and further build, a group recognized for its standard of excellence in creating innovative design solutions for our clients.
Responsibilities
• Oversee Kinetix' High Performance Design (HPD) department; including the development of client solutions, departmental infrastructure and organizational protocols, and project management and design tools
• Develop annual departmental projections and budgets
• Create and implement recruiting strategy for HPD / LEED team
• Manage client relationships for HPD and LEED projects to ensure excellence in client deliverables, business development initiatives and new client presentations.
• Develop scopes of work, proposals and budget projections for new business
• Review weekly HPD project status and budget reports
• Oversee energy modeling using IES VE and other industry standard software
• Ensure team stays informed of HPD and LEED best practices, including innovations in software, technology, and process
• Develop white papers and articles for publication
• Maintain membership in professional organizations and attend related events
• Represent Kinetix as a speaker / panelist at key industry events and conferences
Qualifications
• BS Mechanical Engineering
• LEED Accredited Professional
• Minimum 10 years experience
• Proven ability to develop and implement sustainable design strategies
• Excellent drawing, written, and presentation skills
• Expertise in AutoCAD, DOE-2, TRACE and other engineering and energy modeling software
