Marketing Coordinator, Sustainable Development

The Sustainable Development Coordinator works with PCA staff, members, allied industry groups and promotional partners to support the cement industry sustainable development initiative. This will be accomplished through outreach, education and research to help design professionals make sustainable design a reality through the durability, versatility and energy performance of concrete. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting materials for educational and promotional programs; responding to technical requests from members and customers received by phone and the website; monitoring US Green Building Council (USGBC) and Green Building Initiative activities and providing updates to PCA staff and members; participating in local USGBC Chapter meetings; developing and updating content on website; identifying print and electronic trade journals for content; providing support for tradeshow and educational activities; creating and maintaining directories and databases; representing PCA and the cement industry at meetings and conferences. The ideal candidate will possess: 4 year college degree in marketing, communications, architecture, engineering or business; 2-4 years experience in a marketing, communications or promotion related role (technical sales or marketing a plus); excellent written and verbal communication skills required (must be comfortable in public speaking role); ability to work independently and as part of a team; fundamental understanding of building science is desired (architecture, engineering, construction); LEED Accredited Professional is desired; ability to travel to meetings, tradeshows and other industry events in North America (20%).
